President
Alyssa Stavola
Alyssa served as Vice President and Director of Development for EWB-BPC before running for President. Alyssa has a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University where she was involved in the student chapter of EWB. Currently, Alyssa is pursuing her PhD in Chemical Engineering also at Northeastern University. Her research is focused on creating more efficient all-solid-state lithium batteries as she believes that safer batteries are the best way to make alternative energy a reality. Alyssa loves running, hiking, reading, and traveling.
Vice President
Bruce Jacobs, PE, PhD
Bruce is currently employed as an adjunct faculty member at the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He has more than 30 years of engineering experience, addressing groundwater, surface water, water supply, and stormwater management projects. He founded and ran the environmental software company EI LLC and had previously worked for HydroAnalysis, Inc. and Camp Dresser & McKee International. He is currently President-Elect of the Boston Society of Civil Engineering and has served as chair of the BSCES Environmental Water Resources Institute. Bruce has three adult children and one not so grown-child and is most commonly known in the community as Cathy Jacobs’ husband.
Director of Development
Natalie Tarski
Natalie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Psychology in 2017 and has been working in the field of Sales ever since. She currently works for a video accessibility startup in Boston to help make the digital world an inclusive place for Deaf/hard-of-hearing and Blind/low-vision viewers. A lifetime volunteer for organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Boys and Girls Clubs of America, she is passionate about diversity, inclusion, and human rights. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, and playing the flute.
Treasurer
Charles Conley
Charles joined the EWB-Boston Professional Chapter in 2014. As a new member, he became part of the project team for Water Purification in Honduras. This project, located in Guaimaca, consisted of a gravity distribution system to three adjacent villages totaling 39 households. Each household had a separate meter for billing purposes to ensure project sustainability. This project was completed in approximately five years and recognized by EWB-USA as one of its top projects.
Secretary
Jill Gosnell
Jill Gosnell has been a member of EWB-BPC since 2019. She first became passionate about water accessibility after spending a summer in a small town outside of Cusco, Peru. Since then, she has earned a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and now works as an engineer focused on water distribution.
Membership Coordinator
Ryan Barrett
Ryan joined EWB-BPC in May 2015. Prior to that, he was a member of the EWB-University of Hartford Student Chapter and worked on projects for the community of Abhaypur, India. Ryan is a Boston native who graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He currently works for Cytiva (formerly GE Healthcare) designing pharmaceutical equipment. He also has experience in designing control systems, and automation. Outside of work Ryan enjoys cooking, working on cars, and practicing Capoeira.
Tanzania Program Manager
Barbara Piper
On her first visit to Tanzania in 2015, Barbara immediately fell in love with the beautiful country and its people and is fully committed to our partnerships with the communities of Mapinduzi, Mkutani and Chamhawi in the central region of Dodoma. She has a background in international business and finance and has been involved in a number of start-ups in the UK and US. She also has extensive R&D and Product Development experience in the medical device/pharmaceutical and electronics industries. Her academic credentials include a BS and MS in Polymer Science & Engineering with a specialization in biomedical applications of polymers and a MBA with a specialization in the Management of Technology and Innovation. She enjoys being outdoors (bicycling, hiking, kayaking and sailing) and traveling to all corners of the world.

Director of Communications
Ally Evans
Ally graduated with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering in the spring of 2021 from UMass Amherst. Although she is new to the chapter, she is not new to EWB. At UMass, she served as fundraising chair and president during her 4 years of involvement with the UMass Amherst Chapter. Ally is a project engineer at a small company in Waltham that rents cleanrooms and provides other services to start ups in pre-commercial stages. She is all about supporting others and helping them reach their goals, which is why she loves her job and EWB. She loves the fall, football (Go Pats!), her dog, and cooking/cooking shows.
