Engineering Change
for a Better World

Engineers Without Borders USA was founded in 2002 with a simple goal: help small communities in the developing world meet basic infrastructure needs by connecting them with engineers with experience in those areas. Members collaborate with communities to find sustainable solutions for sanitation, water supply, agriculture, energy, and civil works.

The Boston Professional Chapter of EWB (EWB-BPC) was created in 2005 to further this mission. We are a group of people from many different professions (no, you do not have to be an engineer to get involved with EWB!). Together, we strive to make the greater Boston area and the World a better, more sustainable place.

We hope everyone is remaining safe & healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic! Here at EWB-BPC, we are pushing forward with our community development projects in Tanzania. Please subscribe to our mailing list to stay up to date about our meetings and events.

We currently have five active projects both internationally and here at home! We have four projects in Tanzania. In Mkutani, we have a Water Supply Project to construct a water distribution system, a Girl’s Latrines Project, and Multipurpose School Classroom Project. In Chamhawi, we have another Water Supply Project to bring clean, accessible water to the community. We have also established a partnership with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe to enhance the irrigation system of their farm.

If you’d like to get involved with a project, you should start by emailing our Membership Coordinator here. They will help you get started and help determine which project is the best fit for you.
