In October, four members of the Energy Technologies Group for the Tanzania Program travelled to Dodoma to oversee the installation of a new solar powered pump for Mapinduzi B’s borehole well. The new larger pump is now able to supply the villagers with all the water they desire in one-quarter of the time. This successful project is the result of nearly one year’s worth of work by our volunteers from the Boston Professional Chapter. Team leaders Jeremy Schein, Cheryl Champagne and Brandon Matthews along with team members Glen McManus, Ryan Barrett, Bill Clunie, Ben Holsapple and our in-country liaison Semu Nassari are all to be commended for their tireless devotion to making this project a rousing success. We are especially grateful to Mike Worthy and Tetra Tech for their generous support of this project.
